CHARITY DAY

Every month we choose a charity to donate 15% of all books sold on that day. Here’s our latest and some of the fantastic organisations that we’ve donated to.

CHARITY DAY MAY 2024

On Thursday May 9, it is our Monthly Charity Day where we donate 15% of the value of each book sold in the shop and online to a charity or organisation that we love to support. This Charity Day, we will be donating to The Healing Foundation, a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation that provides a platform to amplify the voices and lived experience of Stolen Generations survivors and their families.

The Healing Foundation works with communities to create a place of safety, providing an environment for Stolen Generations survivors and their families to speak for themselves, tell their own stories, and be in charge of their own healing. They promote trauma-aware, healing-informed practice to help government, policymakers, and workforces understand their role in intergenerational healing. By addressing unresolved trauma in First Nations communities – trauma that was caused by colonisation and actions like the forced removal of children – The Healing Foundation walks alongside communities on the path to healing. The organisation is governed by a First Nations Board and Executive and guided in their work by their Stolen Generations and Youth Reference Groups. The Healing Foundation honours First Nations ancestors and our future generations.

Last Charity Day, in April, with your support, we were able to donate to NPY Women’s Council who operate many projects, including Ngangkari (Traditional Healthers), Tjanpi Desert Weavers, The Child and Family Wellbeing Service, Youth Service, Tjungu (Aged and Disability Service) and Domestic and Family Violence Service.

Thank you for your support.
